Bacon Group, Inc. was engaged to design a replacement facility on an existing site that conforms to FEMA regulations and current animal facility design trends. This proposed design has the main floors elevated to conform to flood zone requirements. Site constraints dictated that parking and elevator lobby entrance be located under the building. Cantilevered stairs were allowed to project over setbacks and a dog park was located on the roof allowing for daily exercise. The central two-story area divides the building into a medical/admin side and canine and feline housing wing.
